In 2012, Karyn Fox and her family, moved from Sydney to live with her parents, David and Bronwen Fox, on their property on Adams Peak Road. Although the move was initially temporary as a step to ‘get out of the rat race’, with one small child and falling pregnant again weeks after arriving, they decided that Broke was the ideal place to bring up their family, and decided to stay. Soon enough, they became involved in the family business, Adams Peak Retreat. The Retreat was initially a 4 bedroom house that David and Bronwen converted to a B&B in 2008.
The business soon took a new and exciting direction when the family combined their talents utilising Karyn’s extensive background in bridal retail and marketing combined with David and Bronwen’s experience in sales, hospitality and venue management. Not to mention, Karyn and her husband themselves were married on the property in 2009, so they are truly experienced at what they are promoting.
Their small but unique team has worked diligently over the last few years to create their vision of “The Barn”, a rustic, chic space that will continue to grow and improve along with its’ popularity. Those who have been watching since that first wedding in 2009, will note the amazing changes that have occurred to both The Barn and Adams Peak Retreat (with a lot of hard work).
In 2015, another family member, James Fox, Karyn's nephew, joined the family business. Using his talents in photography, videography and exceptional drone work... not to mention helping with all the constant renovations as well!
The family have plans for further renovation and expansion on the site and with the energy and commitment they are all putting into the business, it’s surely a case of ‘onwards and upwards’ for Adams Peak and The Barn.
